New Delhi: Ahead of the festive season, there is good news for flyers who are over 60 years of age.
Air India has rolled out special concession for senior citizens for domestic as well as international travel.
The scheme offers fare reduction, additional baggage allowance and payment-linked savings, which will make air travel more affordable for older passengers.

International flights: Air India is offering up to 10 per cent discount on base fares across all cabins for senior citizens. They will also get one free date change (fare difference payable) and additional baggage allowance of 10 kg or one piece per passenger. For Economy class, baggage allowance is up to 40 kg, for Premium Economy up to 45 kg and for Business cabin up to 50 kg.
The savings will increase further if payment is through UPI. By using promo code UPIPROMO while paying through UPI, travellers can get up to Rs 2000 off per passenger on both website and app.
Domestic flights: Senior citizens can get up to 25 per cent off on base fares for domestic travel. It’s applicable across Air India network when ‘Senior Citizen’ option is selected in the concession type.
When paying via UPI, a discount of minimum of 200 can be availed per passenger by using the code UPIPROMO.
Date change: One free change will be allowed if made more than three days before departure. Charges of Rs 1500 will be applicable if change is made three days before departure, and Rs 3000 within three days of departure.
Cancellations: A charge of Rs 2000 if ticket is cancelled more than three days before travel, and Rs 3500 within three days of departure.
No-show penalties: Date change fee of Rs 5000 will be charged. No refund.
