Bhubaneswar: The AirAsia has rescheduled its flight between Kuala Lumpur and Bhubaneswar.
According to official sources, AirAsia flight AK 30 will take off from Biju Patnaik International Airport here at 9.30 am and reach Kuala Lumpur at 3.50 am (IST) from October 27.
The flight will leave Kuala Lumpur at 7.45 pm and arrive in Bhubaneswar at 9 am the same day, instead of 11.25 pm.
The rescheduling of the flight is being attributed to re-carpeting of the runway at the airport.
Bhubaneswar airport director Suresh Chandra Hota had earlier informed that the airport will remain partially closed for the re-carpeting work between 10:30 pm and 5:30 am from November 1, 2019, to March 31, 2020.
The flight operation during daytime at the airport will be suspended between April 1 and June 30, 2020, from 10.30 am to 6 pm, he added.
In view of increasing number of air passengers between Bengaluru and Bhubaneswar, the Malaysian low-cost airline will also be introducing six more domestic flights. Two flights — I5 536 and I5 535 — will fly daily between Bengaluru and Bhubaneswar from October 27. Four more flights – 151567, 151565, 151562 and 51563 – will be made operational between these two destinations from November 9 this year.
Similarly, two connecting Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar and three flights between Kolkata and Bhubaneswar will be launched from November 9.
