Aircraft With 19 People Onboard Crashes In Nepal, 18 Bodies Recovered [Watch]

New Delhi: A Saurya Airlines aircraft crashed during takeoff at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Nepal’s Kathmandu on Wednesday, The Kathmandu Post reported.

According to the Nepal Police, 18 of the 19 passengers died in the crash and their remains have been recovered. One person, critically injured, has been rescued and taken to the hospital.

The Nepal Police posted an update at 1pm local time on X:

“More details regarding Solar Airlines plane crash at Tribhuvan International Airport on 2081/04/09 at 11:00. Passengers: 19 people (18 Nepalese and 1 Yemeni national, going to Pokhara for maintenance, all employees of Solar Airlines). Death- 18, Rescue- 1.”

Nepal Police also shared a video from the mishap site.
