Airport & Raj Bhavan In Bhubaneswar Under Security Blanket For PM Modi’s Visit

Bhubaneswar: Security has been beefed up in Bhubaneswar for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

Speaking to media persons on the security arrangements on Sunday, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh said the Prime Minister will land at Biju Patnaik International Airport here in a special Indian Air Force plane from Telangana at around 2 pm. He is scheduled to go to Raj Bhawan and them to Chandikhol to attend several programmes.

Singh said the airport and its surrounding areas leading to Raj Bhavan have already been put under security surveillance and anti-sabotage checking has been started. The area will be announced no entry zone for suspicious persons during the PM’s visit.

“All those going to the airport will be issued a special pass on the day and nobody will be allowed entry to the airport without producing the pass,” he said.

The CISF will look after the security of the entire airport premises while the police will stand guard at entry and exit points. A carcade rehearsal will also be conducted and necessary security aspects related to it ensured.

“We are coordinating with the intelligence agencies deployed in the area and getting constant inputs from them on various security aspects. All the line departments have been told to issue safety and security certificates,” the DCP said.

He further said 6 officers of additional commissioner of police rank, 10 ACPs, 14 inspectors, 12 platoons of police force for security and 70 personnel for traffic management will be deployed to ensure security during the Prime Minister’s visit.
