Ajay Devgn Postpones ‘Dhamaal 4’ To Give Solo Release Window To Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome To The Jungle’

Mumbai: Amid growing buzz around two major comedy franchises, Ajay Devgn has reportedly decided to postpone the release of ‘Dhamaal 4’ in order to avoid a box-office clash with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome To The Jungle’.

The move will ensure both films get a solo release window to maximise audience reach.

“Ajay and Akshay have been friends for as long as they have been massive stars. They both produce films too apart from acting, and understand how important it is to allow every

film to have sufficient breathing space. Which is why the discussion went off smoothly and they understood that the audience would need a gap between two comedies,” a source was quoted as saying by HT.

‘Dhamaal 4’ is the fourth instalment in the popular ‘Dhamaal’ comedy franchise. Directed by Indra Kumar, the film is expected to bring back the fun, chaos and humour the series is known for.

Besides Ajay, the film stars Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Javed Jaffrey in key roles.

‘Welcome To The Jungle’ is an upcoming comedy entertainer and the third film in the popular ‘Welcome’ franchise. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film stars Akshay, along with Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Dutt, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon and several others.

Besides their solo releases, Akshay and Ajay will soon be sharing screen space in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal 5’.
