Mumbai: At Reliance Industries Annual General Meeting, Mukesh Ambani’s children Isha and Akash Ambani unveiled the new Jio Glass that can be used for 3D virtual and holographic content as well as normal video conferencing.
The device weighs just 75 gm and has personalized audio. It needs to be connected to smartphones using a cable.
Users can create 3D avatars to make interactions better in the virtual world. It already supports 25 apps.
The Jio Glass will take on Snapchat’s Smart Spectacles that was launched recently at a starting price of Rs 14,999.
Apart from that, Reliance Industries announced yet another stakeholder in Jio Platforms – Google. The search giant will invest ₹33,737 crore with a stake of 7.7%. This brings the total investment by stakeholders to ₹1,52,056 crore.
Major investors for Jio Platforms include Facebook, Intel and Qualcomm.
