Mumbai: On director Rohit Shetty’s birthday on March 14, the team of ‘Golmaal’ came together to announce the fifth installment of the franchise.
But what left internet abuzz was the addition of actor Akshay Kumar to the ‘Golmaal’ franchise.
Taking to social media, Akshay shared the announcement video and wrote, “Happy Birthday @itsrohitshetty 🎉 On your birthday, the madness just got bigger and louder. Excited to be joining this crazy family of Golmaal 5! Let the chaos begin.”

Soon, excited fans took to the comments section and wrote, “Akshay /Ajay / Rohit blockbuster loading.”

‘The Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’ franchise, helmed by Rohit Shetty, is considered one of Bollywood’s most popular and successful comedy series.
Launched in 2006, the film quickly won audiences over with its slapstick humour, eccentric characters and wildly chaotic plotlines.
The story revolves around a group of friends played by Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade, whose misadventures often land them in outrageous and comic situations.
After the success of the original film, the franchise expanded with Golmaal Returns (2008), Golmaal 3 (2010) and Golmaal Again (2017).
