Akshay Kumar Reveals Why He Likes Making Patriotic Films

Mumbai: Actor-producer Akshay Kumar has acted and produced several patriotic films ever since he launched his own production house, Cape of Good Films.

Recently, at the Republic Plenary Summit, Akshay revealed why he likes making patriotic films even if those don’t leave cash registers ringing at the box office.

“We’ve seen so many Hollywood films where whenever there’s some issue in the world, itâ

€™s America that saves the day, be it from asteroids, terrorists or aliens. So, I wondered what the rest of the world would be doing if America was always saving the day? Do we not know what India can do? That’s when I made Airlift, Mission Mangal and Sky Force. I will keep on making films about my country even if they don’t make much money,” Akshay said.

The actor also shared that his wife Twinkle Khanna teases him whenever he makes patriotic films.

“Even my wife teases me and asks, how many times will you save the country?” said the actor on a lighter note.

The actor was last seen in ‘Sky Force’ along with Veer Pahariya, Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan.

Akshay will next be seen in ‘Kesari Chapter 2,’ ‘Jolly LLB 3,’ and ‘Housefull 5,’ besides the Telugu film ‘Kannappa.’
