Mumbai: As ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ gears up for release, Akshay Kumar joined the film’s team for the unveiling of a new song from the comedy caper.
The launch event was packed with fun moments and candid interactions, but it was one of the actor’s remarks that quickly became the talking point online.
Since the film includes a Bhojpuri n
umber, Akshay was asked if he intends to venture into Bhojpuri cinema.
Responding with his trademark humour, the actor drew a comparison, declaring that Bhojpuri music is better than Hollywood.
“Bhojpuri is better than Hollywood. I have given this line, (Speaking about the line from the song that actor Jacqueline Fernandes says) because they can’t hear this song. They will not understand anything. They have never seen a song like this..” he said.
He added, “We can proudly say that we have so many cultures. Our songs are made in so much culture. We should be proud of the kind of culture we have and the variety that exists in our country.”
The conversation later turned to the film’s massive ensemble cast.
With his trademark humour, Akshay quipped that while ‘3 Idiots’ became a blockbuster with just three main characters, ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ boasts more than 30 actors, joking that the possibilities are therefore limitless.
