Mumbai: Akshay Kumar will not be attending Cannes Film Festival 2022. The actor tweeted that he has to skip the event having tested positive for COVID-19.
“Was really looking forward to rooting for our cinema at the India Pavilion at #Cannes2022, but have sadly tested positive for Covid. Will rest it out. Loads of best wishes to you and your entire team, @ianuragthakur. Will really miss being there.”
Akshay, who will next be seen in Yash Raj Films’ period drama “Prithviraj”, was supposed to walk the red carpet on the opening day of the 75th Cannes Film Festival alongside music maestro AR Rahman, R Madhavan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia, Shekhar Kapur and CBFC Chief Prasoon Joshi.
Notably, the actor had previously tested positive for the virus in April last year.
