Sambalpur: The woman, whose body was found under Mahanadi Bridge near Goira Matha in Sambalpur on Thursday morning, has been identified as Sambalpuri album artist Simran Singh.
The family members identified her body and later lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that she was murdered.
Simran had acted in a number of Sambalpuri album songs.
Locals spotted the body this morning and informed Burla police, which seized the body and sent it for postmortem.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Simran had married a youth of Balangir recently. Her family alleged that she was murdered by her husband and the body later dumped under the bridge.
