Khurda: Quick response and prompt action by a Railway Protection Force (RPF) Head Constable saved the life of an elderly woman, who slipped and fell while trying to board a moving train at Khurda Road Station in Odisha.
The woman, identified as Manorama Srivastav, fell down on Platform-4 of Khurda Road Station while boarding Puri-bound Kalinga Utkal Express on Sunday afternoon.
While trying to board the train, the woman slipped and got trapped between the moving train and the platform.
The incident was captured on CCTV, just before any assistance arrived. RPF Head Constable Hemabati Behara, who was on duty, quickly rushed to the scene, climbed onto the train, and successfully rescued her.
When this incident occurred, passengers applauded Hemabati Behera’s courageous act. She sustained minor injuries but successfully rescued the woman, ensuring her safety. A brave officer has earned praise from everyone for rescuing the woman.
