Dhenkanal: The presence of mind of a loco driver has saved the lives of about 30 elephants in Odisha.
According to sources, a goods train was on the way towards Manguli from Dhenkanal on Sunday afternoon when the loco driver noticed a herd of about 30 elephants crossing the track near Matshyapur railway station in Khuntuni Forest Range under Athagarh Wildlife Division and immediately stopped the train.
The goods train later left for its destination after the herd crossed the track.
