Mumbai: As the trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited ‘Ramayana’ continues to dominate social media, Alia Bhatt has joined the chorus of praise for husband Ranbir Kapoor.
The actor shared the film’s trailer on her Instagram Stories with a brief yet enthusiastic caption, “DIWALI 2026,” expressing her excitement for the epic, in which Ranbir essays the role of Lord Rama.
The makers released the official trailer of the epic at the auspicious Brahma Muhurat, exactly at 4:15 am on July 30.
The trailer begins by introducing Yash as the formidable Ravana, showcasing his commanding presence as the powerful ruler of Lanka.
It then transitions to Ranbir as Lord Rama, the earthly incarnation of Lord Vishnu, setting the stage for the epic battle between good and evil.
Arun Govil appears as King Dashrath, presenting Rama, who pledges to safeguard humanity even at the cost of his own life.
The trailer also recreates several iconic moments from the Ramayana, including the wedding of Rama and Sita, their 14-year exile, and Sita’s abduction by Ravana.
One of the most powerful sequences features Lord Rama assuring Lakshman that he will go to any lengths to rescue Sita, underscoring his unwavering resolve.
He says, “If Ravana is the king of three worlds, then he will have to face his death in the three worlds.”
Back in April 2026, before Ranbir ‘s first look as Lord Rama was unveiled, Alia expressed her excitement while interacting with fans on a Zoom call.
She said, “Ramayana unit is going to be out tomorrow. It is the unit called the Rama unit. I’m going to be posting it on my social media, so again, please go out there and support it.”
“It’s absolutely fabulous. I think Ranbir has just done such a beautiful job and I just can’t wait for you guys to see it. It’s just out of this world,” she added.
‘Ramayana: Part One’ will release in theatres worldwide during Diwali on November 8, 2026.
The second installment is scheduled to hit theatres in 2027.
