Mumbai: Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor looked ethereal in ivory Sabyasachi ensembles on their wedding day. Alia’s ivory saree was a breath of fresh air and the embroidered handwoven tissue veil elevated her minimalistic look further.
While the infinity symbol, which could also be assumed as Ranbir’s lucky number ‘8’, was found on her sari blouse merged artistically with the gold tilla work, her mangalsutra, diamond bracelet and kalire, the veil also had a special memory inscribed on it.
In a picture shared online by Diet Sabya, you can spot a white embroidered text, which reads: “The fourteenth of April 2022.”
The silver kalires were also customised and featured intricate and creative details such as clouds, infinity symbols, stars, and birds. The rock on Alia’s finger also became a topic of discussion on social media.
However, Alia is not the first among Bollywood celebrities to have embroidered something special on the veil.
Deepika Padukone, who wore a red Sabyasachi lehenga for her wedding with Ranveer Singh, had a Sanskrit mantra, ‘Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava‘ embroidered on it, which roughly translates to – ‘may you always remain married’.
Similarly, Patralekhaa, who tied the knot in November 2021, chose to declare her love for Rajkummar Roa with a Bengali verse, “Amar poran bhora bhalobasha aami tomay shomorpon korilam“.
