Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the Abhinav Bindra Targeting Performance (ABTP) Centre here on Monday.
“This HPC will encourage athletes to use sports science to enhance their performance,” Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said. “Coaching has always been good in Odisha, but now with the best available technology, our athletes will have access to state-of-the-art, world class sports medicine and rehab set-up. The better they perform, the more laurels they attain for themselves, the state and the country,” he added.
ABTP Centre founder Abhinav Bindra said the centres have been built to encourage athletes to use sports science and add value to their training. “With cutting-edge technology from all over the world in physiology, biomechanics, functional training and recovery, we aspire to take the best care of the athletes,” Bindra said.
“I would like to thank the Chief Minister and the Department of Sports & Youth Services, Odisha, for their faith in us, as well as Rungta Mines Ltd for their contributions and support,” he added.
