London: Twenty-year-old Lakshya Sen and teen shuttlers Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly moved into the semi-finals of the prestigious All England Badminton Championships in Birmingham on Friday night.
Lakshya Sen got a walkover after his quarterfinal opponent Lu Guang Zu pulled out due to a back injury. Nineteen-year-old Gayatri and Treesa, 18, bounced back after losing the first set. They eventually prevailed over Lee Sohee and Shin Seungchan of Korea 14-21, 22-20, 21-15.
Lakshya, who won the bronze at the World Championships in 2021 and lifted the India Open title earlier this year, will now play the winner of the match between second seed Japan’s Kento Momota and sixth seed Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia, in the last four clash.
