Sambalpur: All gates of Hirakud Dam in Odisha’s Sambalpur were closed on Wednesday following a decrease in the inflow of water into the reservoir with no rain in the upstream of the Mahanadi.
Earlier this morning, the dam authorities had closed eight gates of the reservoir. At noon, two gates were open and the water level of the reservoir stood at 628.02 ft against its water holding capacity of 630 ft.
