Bhubaneswar: All nine Congress MLAs from Odisha have been asked by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to reach Delhi, party’s Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati said on Tuesday.
A key party meeting is likely to take place in Delhi on Wednesday for which the MLAs have been called.
According to sources, the Congress legislators are scheduled to leave for Delhi on Tuesday evening.
Bahinipati said that discussions are likely to be held on the party’s election strategy as well as the party’s strategy on the Enforcement Directorate (ED)’s notices to Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.
“The AICC secretary called me and told me to inform all legislators to reach Delhi by 6 pm today. The ED notice to Sonia and Rahul is an attempt to create fear among the people of the five states that will go to polls soon. I think there will be an important meeting tomorrow,” Bahinipati said.
Steps to strengthen the party in Odisha are also likely to be discussed, he said.
Rahul on Tuesday arrived at the ED office for the fifth day of questioning in the National Herald case.
