Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the winter session of Odisha Assembly, the Speaker would hold an all-party meeting on November 25, said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling on Tuesday.
Speaking to media persons in Bhubaneswar, the minister said Chief Minister Mohan Charana Majhi discussed about the winter session, beginning from November 26, with his Cabinet colleagues and BJP legislators.
“We discussed the bills to be tabled during the session. The chief minister wanted that all the bills on the welfare of the people of the state should be passed and the session is conducted peacefully,” Mahaling said.
He said the government was ready to discuss any issues to be raised by opposition parties, he said they had held a discussion with Speaker Surama Padhi on the matter.
Earlier, the State Assembly Secretariat had stated that the winter session would continue from November 26 to December 31. There will 5 business days in November and 25 in December.
The First Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for 2024-25 will be presented on November 26, The Chief Minister, who also holds the Finance portfolio, will present the Appropriation Bill on the First Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for 2024-25 on December 5, it added.
