New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday approved of the alternative assessment schemes for Class 12 exams proposed by the CBSE and CISCE, saying the proposals by the education boards were “fair and reasonable”
A bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari said this while rejecting a joint petition by some 1,152 students and parents seeking cancellation of Class 12 private and compartment exams.
The petitioners also demanded parity with regular students for the Class 12 exams which were cancelled this year due to COVID-19.
“There is no reason to interfere with the CBSE and CICSE schemes,” the bench said rejecting the plea for cancelling the compartment exams.
It also accepted the CBSE’s plan to hold the compartment exam between August 15 and September 15, NDTV reported.
