Mumbai/Bhubaneswar: Odisha-born senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Satya Narayan Pradhan took charge as Director-General of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday.
After assuming charge, Pradhan took to his Twitter handle and wrote: “Hope to handle this big responsibility of contributing to mission drug-free India to the best of my ability with Team NCB.”
The 1988-batch IPS officer of Jharkhand cadre had been holding the additional charge of NCB DG since June this year while serving as NDRF Director-General. He will remain in the post till August 2024.
Notably, he had handed over the charge of NDRF Director-General to IPS officer Atul Karwal on Monday.
Pradhan belongs to Bhubaneswar and is an alumnus of Kendriya Vidyalaya here.
