Paradip: In its efforts towards promoting hygiene and education in the community, the CSR wing of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has constructed a new toilet block at Musadia Upper Primary (UP) school in the Kujung block of Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district.
The toilet facility, which will benefit more than 200 school children and teaching staff, was inaugurated by Dr. Vikas Yadvendu, Head – CSR, AM/NS India, Dr Vikas Yadvendu in the presence of Headmaster,the school Arun Kumar Rout, other school teaching, non-teaching staff and school students earlier this week.
The toilet block comprises of four toilets, two for boys and two for girls. It has been equipped with supply of clean water and provision of a hand-washing facility, thus promoting the value of proper sanitation in maintaining a healthy environment, a release from AM/NS said on Thursday.
On the occasion Dr. Yadvendu said, “Quality education and community welfare are inseparable goals. Under our Project ‘PadhegaBharat’, we are focusing on further improving the infrastructure in government schools in nearby villages to give children access to essential sanitation facilities and thereby enhance the overall learning experience. We believe that proper sanitation and toilets will reduce the spread of diseases and protect the health of the children”.
