Bhubaneswar: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has joined hands with Indian Red Cross Society for the Financial Assistance to Road Accident through Heavy Vehicle (FARAH) project.
AM/NS India provided Rs 30 lakh to the Sundargarh district branch of Indian Red Cross on February 8 to help road accident victims of Odisha.
“We are thankful to ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India for its efforts through CSR and support for a noble cause. This financial support will certainly help the road accident victims and their families to make a living with dignity,” said Kunti Rani Naik, Deputy Collector, Sundargarh, after receiving the cheque from Jitesh Rath, Lead-CSR, AM/NS India.
The fund will be utilised for the treatment of road accident victims and payment of compensation to the injured or family of victim who lost life after being hit by heavy vehicles.
Victims’ families will receive up to Rs 4 lakh in case of any death, Rs 2 lakh in case of permanent disability, Rs 1 lakh for major injury and Rs 30,000 in case of minor injuries. Compensation through FARAH project will support livelihood of the road accident victims.
