Kendrapara: A Digital Skilling Centre was inaugurated at Ramanagar in Mahakalapada block of Odisha’s Kendrapara district by Collector & District Magistrate Amrit Ruturaj.
The centre is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India).
Ruturaj also laid the foundation stone for AM/NS India Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Bijaynagar.
AM/NS India Director & Vice-President (Technology) Tomomitsu Inada, Executive Director (Green Field Projects Odisha) TS Shanbhogue, Chief Coordinator (Green Field Projects) LC Mahapatra and CSR Head Dr Vikas Yadvendu were present.
In the first phase, 200 youths will be trained at this Digital Skill Centre from the project villages. The trainees will be counselled and inducted into a 440-hour training programme in job roles of Domestic Data Entry Operators and Domestic IT Helpdesk attendant.
Skill development is a core focus of AM/NS India’s CSR activities. Under its skill development initiative ‘Daksh’, AM/NS India has, in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation, set up Skill Development Centre at Ramanagar to impart training in IT/ITES skill sector job roles to local youths in Kendrapara region.
