Paradip: In order to boost women empowerment, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has opened a stall displaying products of SHG groups at Kalinga Bali Jatra Mahotsav in Paradip of Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district.
The stall at the Bali Jatra in Biju Maidan was inaugurated by Jagatsinghpur district collector Parul Patwari in the presence of Sambit Routray, Paradip MLA; Suresha G, Executive Director, Odisha Operation, AM/NS India and other dignitaries on Monday. An initiative of the CSR wing of AM/NS India, the stall displays various products prepared by the different women SHG groups in Paradip.
The stall, which received appreciation for its design and display, was thronged by the people in the evening to purchase handmade garments, mushroom, dry food and terracotta pots and toys. Gopaljew SHG from Nuagarh, Adishakti SHG from Balidia, Maa Sarala SHG from Nuagarh and Baba Loknath SHG from Paradeepgarh have participated in the stall.
The guests highly appreciated the initiative of AM/NS India for creating a platform to make women self-reliant and for helping to strengthen the SHG groups.
At the inaugural ceremony of Kalinga Bali Jatra Mahotsav, Suresha G said,” Odisha has a rich culture and tradition and is an important state for us at AM/NS India. We give utmost importance for revival of Odia culture and strive for holistic development of the state.”
