Bhubaneswar: A motorcyclist sustained injuries on Wednesday after an ‘Ama Bus’ rammed into his two-wheeler near Sriya Chhak in Odisha capital.

The injured has been identified as Liku Behera.

According to sources, the accident took place when the cit

y bus, en route to Nandankanan from Master Canteen, struck the biker at the traffic signal at the intersection, leaving him with severe injuries. Passersby rushed to the scene and rushed the victim to the Capital Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

“The traffic had stopped at the signal when the bus rammed into him. He fell off the bike and complained of severe pain in the back. We suspect that he has had a fracture. His bike was also damaged,” a relative told reporters.

Meanwhile, Kharvela Nagar police have seized the bus. The sequence of events and traffic data are being analysed to determine the exact cause of the crash.

This is the latest in a series of recent mishaps involving Ama Bus service, intensifying demands for stricter speed regulations, better driver training, and increased enforcement of traffic laws on the city’s increasingly congested thoroughfares.
