Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 34.456 crore for 147 panchayats in six blocks of six districts under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash Yojana at the block level.
The chief minister sanctioned the amount for 1,419 projects after interacting with the block representatives through video conferencing at the State Secretariat here.
Of the sanctioned amount, Rs 3.59 crore has been earmarked for 141 projects in 21 panchayats of Tarabha block in Subarnapur district, Rs 7.15 crore for 323 projects in 31 panchayats of Basta block in Balasore district, Rs 8.79 crore for 317 projects in 35 panchayats of Banarpal block in Angul district and Rs 5.25 crore for 262 projects in 20 panchayats of the Agalpur block in Balangir district.
The CM also sanctioned Rs 4.50 crore for 126 projects in 18 panchayats of Dharakot block of Ganjam district and Rs 5.535 crore for 250 projects in 22 panchayats of the Jharigaan block of Nabarangpur district.
Dharakot block of Ganjam district is the 100th block of Ama Gaon Ama Bikash Yojana, which was started on March 5, the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik. Today, this programme has reached 101 blocks of Odisha.
In the last five months the CM has sanctioned a total of 547,74,15,400 for 21,960 projects under the Yojana.
The state government has focused on placing Odisha in the number one position through the development of villages, said the CM on the occasion.
