Mumbai: Days after senior police officer Sachin Vaze was arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the case of explosives being found in a car near Mukesh Ambani’s house Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh was on Wednesday transferred to Maharashtra’s Home Guard department.
Maharashtra Director General of Police (DGP) Hemant Nagrale will be the new Mumbai Police Commissioner.
In a major reshuffle, announced by state home minister Anil Deshmukh, Rajneesh Sheth will have additional charge of Maharashtra’s Director General of Police, while Sanjay Pandey will be in charge of Maharashtra State Security Corporation.
Vaze was arrested on March 13 and the case handed over to NIA after the mysterious death of Mansukh Hiran – owner of the SUV found with gelatine sticks near Ambani mansion – whose body was found in a creek at Thane on March 5.
