Balangir: Emergency healthcare services were badly hit in certain parts of Balangir district on Monday as ambulance drivers went on strike demanding timely payment.
The agitating drivers parked 17 ambulances in front of the district collector’s office for more than an hour to draw the attention of the administration to their demands.
On the other hand, the district administration looked for alternate arrangements to keep the ambulance services operational in the district.
Extending his support to the agitators, local MLA Bhaktabandhu Nayak requested the state government to sort out their issues at the earliest.
