Chennai: Apart from meeting India’s requirements, data by satellites built and launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is also used by America and Australia for issuing weather warnings, Dr Mylswamy Annadurai, former Director of ISRO’s UR Rao Satellite Centre was quoted as saying by ZeeNews.
He was speaking at a virtual event titled “Science And Technology For A Self-Reliant India”, organised by the Press Information Bureau. He said that the combined use of satellite data and drones had even contained and prevented the spread of locust attacks in parts of North India, the report added.
