Amid Heavy Rain In Bhubaneswar & Cuttack, Odisha Govt Asks Civic Bodies To Brace Up For Water-Logging

Bhubaneswar: As heavy rain accompanied by thundershower and lightning lashed Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on Monday evening, the Odisha government asked the officials concerned to remain prepared to deal with possible water-logging.

Sources in the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) said there is heavy rainfall/ thundershower with lightning situation in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Poor visibility is likely to be experienced during intense spell of rain and there may be disruption in traffic. Low-lying areas may face water-logging, and roads and drains may be submerged under water, they said.

In view of the situation, the SRC instructed to the Commissioner, BMC & CMC to keep the administrative machinery ready.

Instruction was issued to keep the drains/ stormwater channels de-congested, and adequate de-watering pumps may be deployed as per requirement.
