New Delhi: Air India has temporarily suspended flights to Tel Aviv amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, reported PTI.
An official said on Sunday that direct flights between Delhi and Tel Aviv will be suspended until further notice.
Air India operates four weekly flights between the Indian Capital and Israeli city.
The Tata group-owned airline recommenced services to Tel Aviv on March 3 after a gap of nearly five months. Flights to and from Tel Aviv were suspended from October 7 after war broke out following Hamas’ sudden attack on Israel.
And now, another war looms in the region.
Iran unleashed a barrage of missiles and drones at Israeli targets on Saturday night and during the early hours of Sunday to ‘avenge’ suspected Israeli strike on its consulate in Damascus that killed 13 people a fortnight ago.
As Israel weighs response to Iran’s barrage of drone and missile strikes, the world remains on tenterhooks.
Iran on Sunday warned Israel and the United States of a much larger response if there is any retaliation for its attack on Israeli territory.
