Amid Ollywood Row, Director Anupam Patnaik Announces His 2nd Odia Film ‘Trikanya’

Bhubaneswar: Amid waging war among stars in Ollywood, eminent director Anupam Patnaik has announced his next Odia feature film titled ‘Trikanya’.

The women-centric movie has been written by Manash Padhiary and produced and directed by Anupam. Actors Barsha Patnaik, Manoj Mishra, Aman, Sradha Panigrahi, Partha Sarathi Nishanth Majithia, Sukant Rath, Nivy, and Sijan Mohapatra will feature in the film that is scheduled to release on January 24, 2024.

The storyline of the film deals with the way three women coming from different social backgrounds deal with their challenges and finally come out victorious. “The plot revolves around stories of three “kanyas” (women). Hence, the name “Trikanya”. The movie is about love, lust and hardships faced by women. I hope people will shower their love on this movie as well,” Patnaik said.

Patnaik had received the National Award for Best Odia Film for his previous film ‘Pratikshya’ which also dealth with social issues.

Meanwhile, the Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC) held a meeting on the day to resolve the row triggered by a two-year ban imposed on actor Manoj Mishra by some Ollywood producers.
