Berhampur: Amid rumour of question leak, the written examination for the recruitment of constable post in Berhampur was conducted peacefully on Sunday.
The rumour of the question paper leak was getting viral in social media since the examination was held, but authorities had denied the same from the beginning.
Following reports that Odisha Police constable recruitment exam question paper was leaked and made viral on social media, police conducted an investigation and found that it was fake.
The probe revealed that photos of the ‘purported’ question papers circulated on social media platforms were not of the recruitment examination.
An immediate investigation was done and it was found that the viral images were not that of the question paper of today’s constable recruitment written exam, said SP Berhampur Dr Saravana Vivek M.
It is clear that some mischievous person has circulated some fake questions to create an atmosphere of suspicion among the candidates, SP said.
Criminal case is being registered against the person who has mischievously made fake questions viral. Police will find all the persons and criminal action would be taken against all of them, said SP Berhampur with a determined tone.
The exam took place in 5 examination centres including Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Khallikote College, Sashi Bhusan Rath Womens College and Govt ITI where a total of 4420 candidates appeared in the written exam. Candidates clearing the written exam will be selected for the physical qualification test later.
The entire exam process is recorded in CCTV footage. All candidates were frisked and checked with metal detectors to prevent malpractice. Every centre had a police mobile squad for surprise checking, the SP said.
The entire process from storage of question papers in police armoury till collecting and storing OMR answer sheets are under CCTV coverage and the videos are stored for future reference, he said.
