Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Monday apprehended an Amin of Balasore-Mayurbhanj Major Settlement, Baripada, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 6,300.
The accused, Manas Ranjan Das, had demanded the illegal gratification from the complainant for issuing certified copies of RoR of ancestral land settled in name of his grandfather, a Vigilance release said.
While a case has been register under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations linked to Das to ascertain whether he had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, it added.
