Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday apprehended Amin of Sundargarh’s Kutra tehsil, Sisir Kumar Naik, while allegedly accepting Rs 6000 bribe.
According to a Vigilance release, he had demanded the illegal gratification to prepare a sketch map for partition of ROR( patta) of the complainant and his brothers in accordance with order of the competent court. “Even after receiving the court order, Naik demanded Rs 10,000 to prepare a sketch map of land. When the complainant expressed his inability to pay the amount, he settled for Rs 6000,” it further stated.
The entire bribe money was recovered from the Amin and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches were conducted at two locations linked to Naik to ascertain whether he had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, it added.
