Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah on Saturday advised the party leaders of Odisha to strengthen the party organisation at booth level and fight against corruption.
Speaking to media persons in Bhubaneswar, BJP’s state president Manmohan Samal said Shah, who is on a two-day visit to Odisha, had lunch with the leaders in party office here. Shah advised the state leaders, MLAs, MPs and members of the core committee to strengthen the party organisation at booth level to win the coming elections in 2024.
Shah said the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to development of the people of Odisha. The BJP government at the Centre has sanctioned Rs 18.83 lakh crore for various projects in the state in the last 9 years compared to Rs 2.93 lakh crore granted by the UPA government in 10 years, he added.
Keeping the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed Odisha, the Union Minister advised the state leaders to fight against corruption, solve the people’s problems and find ways to remove hurdles on the path of development.
He also held a detailed discussion on how to start a movement from panchayat to state level to eradicate corruption from the state, Samal said.
