Amit Shah Holds Mega Roadshow In Cuttack, Says BJP Will Punish Chit Fund Culprits If Voted To Power In Odisha

Cuttack: After his high-voltage campaign in Odisha’s Ganjam, BJP stalwart and Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a mega roadshow in the millennium city of Cuttack on Wednesday evening to bolster the prospects of party candidates in the twin elections.

Standing on a saffron-coloured vehicle decorated with flowers, Shah embarked on the roadshow from the Gopabandhu park.

The BJP heavyweight, holding an illuminated lotus (BJP’s election symbol), waved and greeted thousands of people who gathered on both sides of the road as his vehicle moved past.

With thousands of party workers and people from all parts of the city raising slogans in support of BJP, the entire stretch of the road from Buxi Bazar to Naya Sarak was chock-a-block. Chants of ‘Jai Shre Ram’ also rent the air as the roadshow progressed.

BJP candidate for Cuttack Lok Sabha seat Bhartruhari Mahtab and Barabati-Cuttack MLA nominee Dr Purna Chandra Mohapatra accompanied Amit Shah on the vehicle during the roadshow.

The roadshow, which began from Gopabandhu park, covered several important junctions in Cuttack, including Buxi Bazaar, Tinikonia Bagicha, Dargha Bazaar, Choudhry Bazaar, Naya Sarak, Balu Bazaar, Chandni Chhak and Mohammadia Bazaar and culminate at Chandi Mandir Chhak.

Speaking to media on the sidelines of the grand show and addressing a rally earlier in Ganjam, Amit Shah asserted that action will be taken against all those involved in the multi-crore chit fund scam if BJP forms government in the state after the elections. Similarly, money will be returned to the investors who were duped in the chit fund scam.

Targeting the BJD government in the state for not opening all the four gates of Jagannath Temple in Puri for devotees, the Home Minister said all the gates of the 12th century shrine will be opened for the convenience of visitors if BJP comes to power in the state.

Shah said BJP will work to make public the judicial commission report on the missing keys of Puri Jagannath temple’s Ratna Bhandar within six days of forming government in Odisha. “We will also punish those who robbed you in the form of chit funds. You gave 25 years to Naveen Babu, give us just five years and see the difference,” the BJP stalwart said
