Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar on Saturday evening (December 28) on a two-day visit to Odisha.
“He will arrive in the state capital around 10 pm on December 28 and leave the following evening,” party state unit in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar told reporters on Thursday.
Shah will attend events at ITBP, at an university and a sports stadium, he said.
He added that Sambalpur does not feature in the latest itinerary of the senior BJP leader shared with them.
Sources said Shah will attend the meeting to be held at party headquarters in New Delhi via video conferencing from Kalinga Stadium on December 29 morning and may also interact with party MLAs and office bearers. “The itinerary does not mention about the interaction though it was earlier scheduled,” Tomar clarified.
In his last visit to the state in November to attend the DGP/IGP conference, the Union Minister did not take part in any party activities.
Days after Shah’s next visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas here on January 9. He will in the state again to inaugurate the Utkarsha Odisha Make in Odisha investors’ meet on January 28.
