Bhubaneswar: BJP stalwart and Union Minister Amit Shah will be visiting Odisha again on May 21 and address a number of election rallies as part of the party’s campaign blitzkrieg for the last two phases of polling in the state.
During his visit, the heavyweight leader is slated to attend four public meetings to garner support for party candidates, state BJP vice president Golak Mohapatra told the media on Saturday.
The Home Minister is scheduled to visit Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, and Nayagarh districts.
As per the tentative schedule, Shah is likely visit Sambalpur first and hold a roadshow in the western Odisha district before addressing different poll rallies. He is slated to address meetings at Keonjhar, Parjang in Dhenkanal and Nayagarh to bolster the prospects of the saffron party.
Shah’s visit will follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s embark on a two-day tour of Odisha from May 19 when he will kick-start BJP’s electioneering in the state for the third-round elections from Puri.
Modi will arrive in Bhubaneswar at 7 pm and hold an hour-long review meeting with party workers at the state BJP office. The following morning he will visit Puri to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath before holding a roadshow there, a senior BJP leader said.
The PM will then travel to Angul and later attend an election rally in Cuttack, he added.
