Bhubaneswar: The two-day visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Odisha from Saturday has been postponed with the nation mourning the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Jajpur MP Rabindra Narayan Behera informed about the cancelation of the Shah’s trip to the state on Friday.
The Union Minister was scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar around 10 pm on Saturday. He was to attend three events, including national party meeting at party headquarters in New Delhi via video conferencing from Kalinga Stadium here on December 29 morning.
Singh, hailed as one of the architects of the country’s economic liberalisation in the early 1990s, died in Delhi on Thursday after a prolonged illness. He was 92.
The Union Home Ministry has announced seven days of mourning and a state funeral for the former PM.
