Bhubaneswar: With lockdown in force, BJP has gone digital as an alternative to public meeting and rally. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address people of Odisha through digital platform at 3.30 pm on June 8.
The party intends to apprise the people of the achievements of the Narendra Modi Government in its first year of the second term through the virtual rally, said Odisha BJP president Samir Mohanty, according to a TNIE report.
It will be for the first time that a political party will hold such a rally. Besides Shah, there will be other speakers. Shah will address from New Delhi which will be live-streamed, said Mohanty.
Besides highlighting the steps taken by the Centre to fight COVID-19, Shah will speak on the Central assistance to Odisha during the last one year. Mohanty said the party will organise more such virtual rallies at the district level in coming days.
Shah’s virtual rally holds significance as it is preceded by the visit of the Prime Minister to the State to take stock of the damage caused by cyclone Amphan.
