Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan sparked concern among fans on Wednesday after revealing on X (formerly Twitter) that he had been advised to “rest and recover”.
The 84-year-old actor did not disclose further details about his health, leaving fans wondering what prompted the advice.
“Apologies. I seek forgiveness. I have been advised to take a few days off to rest and recover, so I am unable to write anything at the moment,” Big B wrote.

His latest post comes a day after Bachchan revealed on his official blog that he had also been asked to limit his communication.
“First Dussehra greetings to all .. love happiness, fulfilment, prayers. Under very strict rest and recuperation .. so am not allowed to communicate .. do excuse .. my apologies,” he wrote.
The veteran actor added, “But do take this as my respected response .. more hopefully later.”
Meanwhile, reports surrounding the recent firing incident involving Tiger Shroff have drawn attention to other prominent Bollywood stars.
Investigators reportedly suspect that the accused had initially considered targeting other celebrities, including Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan.
However, the accused allegedly concluded that carrying out attacks at the actors’ residences would be difficult.
They reportedly sent photographs and videos of locations they had surveyed to gangster Anil Pandit, who is linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, seeking guidance on their next move.
On the work front, Bachchan was last seen in T. J. Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan and is currently working on Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD sequel, which also stars Prabhas and Kamal Haasan.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the film centres on a mission to protect a woman carrying Lord Vishnu’s final avatar, Kalki, from the tyrannical Yaskin.
Bachchan is also hosting the ongoing 18th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
