New Delhi: Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has been unanimously selected for the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, informed Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday.
“The legend Amitabh Bachchan who entertained and inspired for 2 generations has been selected unanimously for #DadaSahabPhalke award. The entire country and international community is happy. My heartiest congratulations to him.@narendramodi @SrBachchan,” tweeted Javadekar.
Dadasaheb Phalke is considered the pioneer of India cinema and is often referred to as the ‘Father of Indian Cinema’. Phalke is credited with making the first Indian feature film, Raja Harishachandra.
