Bhubaneswar: In view of the impending Cyclone Amphan, the Odisha government on Monday rescheduled the date of evaluation of Matric examination papers.
Briefing mediapersons after a video conferencing with officials of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said as Cyclone Amphan will move along the state coast this evening and trigger heavy to very heavy rainfall, the Matric paper evaluation will begin from May 21 instead of May 20.
In view of the difficulties faced by teachers who travel a long distance to their respective examination centres, schools within 10km range of their homes have been turned into evaluation centres.
On the pending annual Plus II examinations, the minister said the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has decided to conduct them between July 1 and 15. The evaulation of the answersheets of exams alreay conducted, will begin from June 1.
