Amphan Impact: Rainfall Forecast For Odisha From May 19 To May 21

Bhubaneswar: The ‘super cyclone’ Amphan is expected to make landfall between Digha (West Bengal) and Hatiya Islands (Bangladesh) on May 20.

Under its influence, most places in coastal districts will experience heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places from May 19.

The maps released by Odisha State Disaster Management Authority clearly shows that Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall between 8.30 am on Tuesday and 8.30 am on Wednesday.

Heavy rain is likely lash Cuttack, Khurda and Puri districts during this period.

Similarly in the next 24 hours starting 8.30 am on Wednesday, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Balasore and Mayurbhanj are likely to witness heavy rainfall.
