AMRI Hospitals Launches Liver Treatment OPD Clinic

Bhubaneswar: In its continued commitment to bring in world class healthcare to the people of Odisha, AMRI Hospitals, Bhubaneswar, in association with Medanta – The Medicity, a Gurugram (formerly Gurgaon) based multi-specialty medical institute on Sunday launched a Liver Treatment OPD Clinic and started its operations.

The OPD services of this specialized liver treatment clinic would be available for once in every month. This facility is going to be the first ever clinic in Odisha which is going to offer easy access to world-class liver treatment including critical medical services like liver transplantation to the patients from the State as well as from other parts of the eastern region of the country.

Dr AS Soin, Chairman, Institute of Liver Transplant & Regenerative Medicine, Medanta – The Medicity will head the Institute along with Dr Prashant Bhangui, Senior Consultant, Institute of Liver Transplant & Regenerative Medicine, Medanta – The Medicity.  A globally reputed surgeon, Dr Soin has performed over 2700 liver transplants and leads India’s largest and most successful liver transplant program at Medanta – The Medicity, which is rated as a Tier-I programme internationally.

“Liver transplant is a complex procedure which requires several critical simultaneous parameters to be addressed in a time sensitive manner. Rapidly changing lifestyles are leading to a higher incidence of liver disease. With the launch of this facility, we will address this vital health issue in the best possible manner,” said Dr Soin.

In his address, Dr (Lt. Col.) Vivek Lal, Vice President & Unit Head, AMRI Hospital, Bhubaneswar said, “In our strong commitment to provide the best healthcare services to the people of Odisha, we have launched this unique partnership with Medanta – the Medicity to fulfil the long awaited regional requirement of a liver transplantation program. Once the program is fully established, needy patients can avail this facility here in Bhubaneswar itself. The said program will be another feather in the cap of AMRI hospitals which stands committed to offer comprehensive tertiary medical care in Eastern India.”
