New Delhi: Waris Punjab De’s fugitive leader Amritpal Singh wanted to look like his idol and Khalistani militant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and reportedly underwent cosmetic surgery when he was in Georgia before returning to India in August last year, The Indian Express reported citing intelligence sources.
He had spent about two months in Georgia, Amritpal’s aides made this revelation during questioning.
The radical preacher has been on the run since March 18 but eight of his close aides, including uncle Harjit Singh and Daljit Singh Kalsi, have been arrested and lodged in Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam.
Amritpal was a baptised Sikh and started dressing like Bhindranwale after returning to India. He also followed his style of always being around armed men.
