Keonjhar: In order to improve heathcare services for the people, the Odisha government has brought Anandpur Municipality in Keonjhar district under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM).
The Health and Family Welfare department on Monday released an official notification about the inclusion of Anandpur Municipality in the NUHM. With this, 50 urban civic bodies in the state have been brought under the Mission.
As per norms, the urban bodies having a population of more than 50,000 are entitled to the benefits of the NUHM. The benefits include vaccination drive, health services for women and children and opening of Health and Wellness Centre in the area.
So far, total 55 Health and Wellness Centres have been opened in the urban areas in the state that have been included in the Mission. The government targets to open 122 such centres by the end of March this year.
